Yesterday I signed up for a facebook account. I have always been interested in the narrative structures of online social networking cites such as myspace, blogger, and even facebook--although that latter always held me at bay because of its reference to the picture books carried by pimps so that they could tell which whores were theirs. Still, i fell victim to the system when Sarah decided that this was a great way to keep in contact with many of her friends. So here I am, sitting in front of my laptop, pressing buttons which sent tiny electronic signals to a mess of electronic hardware that can decode those minute pulses and translate them into the character that you will decode and interpret--at least that is what I would like to imagine happens.
I am a self proclaimed internet addict; Sarah would tell you that it is a true addiction for me because I spend more time here, in front of the computer screen, than I do with her and Aiden. I feel that this is a bit of a stretch, but she is right on one thing; I do spend a lot of time on the computer writing, reading, emailing, and in various other ways waisting time. I claim, in self defense, that I do this for work. She claims that it is simply a wast of time, and she is probably right.

You're a geek, you know that? You sign up for facebook to see the social structures online? Wow. Of course, I only have one blog and haven't updated it for well into a year now. Oh well. Come back soon.
